Town Hall Meeting
2011 Conference of the American Geophysical Union
December 8, 2011
San Francisco, CA
If our political institutions cannot act on behalf of humanity in the face of the devastating impact the climate crisis is already having in the developing world, we must create an alternative leadership.
To begin building this leadership, BAMN is helping to sponsor a town-hall meeting at this year’s conference of the American Geophysical Union targeted at young scientists, graduate and undergraduate students, and high school and middle school youth on the necessity of a new, international youth leadership for the environmental movement.
This meeting will focus on the intersection of the civil rights, immigrant rights, and environmental movements, and begin building the politically independent, youth-led mass movement that is needed to break through the obstacles created by corporate interests to the implementation of meaningful solutions to the environmental crisis.
