BAMN’S CALL TO ACTION TO THE IMMIGRANT RIGHTS MOVEMENT TO WIN FULL CITIZENSHIP RIGHTS FOR ALL
BAMN is making a call to action to the immigrant rights movement born in 2006, to seize the opportunity of today’s immigration reform proposal to win full and equal citizenship rights for this nation’s 11-million-plus undocumented immigrants.
The fact that national comprehensive immigration reform is being proposed reflects the strength of the immigrant rights and civil rights movement, and in particular of the Latino communities of this nation. It is clear that the massive power of the immigrant rights movement of 2006-07 is strong and can win real gains for immigrants — we have the power to expand what democracy means in America. Some of what is incorporated into this proposal, most importantly a federal level DREAM Act, is a direct result of the continued strength and mobilization of the movement.
BAMN does not endorse the current “bipartisan framework,” but the fact that it is being initiated gives the movement a chance and a starting point for a process that can create the kind of immigration reform that is needed to ensure full citizenship rights for all immigrants in this nation. These are some major criticisms and points that BAMN is leading the movement and mobilizing mass direct actions to fight for, in order to win immigrant rights and end second-class treatment:
1. Replace partial probationary status with full citizenship rights for all people who live here, go to school here, work here, and otherwise contribute to this society. Latina/o, black, Asian, Arab, Native American, white, immigrants with and without papers–we are ALL Americans.
2. Open the borders– give people the same rights that NAFTA provides to the corporations for unrestricted passage across borders.
3. No restrictions to gaining citizenship should be placed on young people brought here by their parents.
4. No fines for the millions of people without papers who are here now. No more deportations.
5. Clear and definite timelines should be set for people to gain citizenship instead of indefinite probation.

Llamada a Acción de BAMN Hacia el Movimiento para Derechos de Inmigrantes para Ganar Derechos de Ciudadanía para Todos
BAMN está haciendo una llamada a acción al movimiento para derechos de inmigrantes que nació en el 2006, para apoderarnos de la oportunidad de la propuesta reforma inmigratoria para ganar derechos de ciudadanía completos e iguales para más de 11 millones de inmigrantes indocumentados en esta nación.
El hecho de que la reforma inmigratoria comprehensiva nacional está siendo propuesta refleja la fuerza del movimiento para derechos de inmigrantes y derechos civiles, y en particular la fuerza de las comunidades Latinas de esta nación. Es claro que el poder masivo del movimiento para derechos civiles del 2006-07 es fuerte y puede ganar victorias reales para los inmigrantes—tenemos el poder para expandir el significado de la democracia en América. Algo de lo que es incorporado en esta propuesta, el Acta del Sueño Federal siendo lo más importante, es el resultado directo de la fuerza y movilización continúa del movimiento.
BAMN no respalda la “estrategia bipartita,” de hoy día, pero el hecho de que está siendo iniciada le da al movimiento la oportunidad y un punto de partida para un proceso que puede crear el tipo de reforma inmigratoria que es necesaria para asegurar los derechos de ciudadanía completos para todos los inmigrantes en esta nación. Estas son algunas críticas principales y algunos puntos en cual BAMN está liderando al movimiento y para cual está movilizando acciones directas masivas para luchar y poder ganar derechos para inmigrantes y terminar el tratamiento de segunda clase:
1. Reemplazar el estatus de prohibición parcial con derechos de ciudadanía completos para toda la gente quien vive aquí, asiste a la escuela aquí, trabaja aquí, y contribuye a esta sociedad de cualquier otra manera. Latina/o, Afro-Americana/o, Asiática/o, Árabe, Nativo Americana/o, blanco, inmigrantes con y sin papeles—TODOS somos Americanos.
2. Abran las fronteras—denle a la gente los mismos derechos que NAFTA le provee a las corporaciones para pasaje sin restricciones a través de las fronteras.
3. Ninguna restricción para obtener la ciudadanía debe ser puesta hacia los jóvenes traídos aquí por sus padres.
4. Ninguna multa para las millones de personas sin papeles quienes están aquí ahora. No más deportaciones.
5. Líneas del tiempo claras y determinadas deben ser puestas para que la gente obtenga la ciudadanía en lugar de un periodo de prueba indefinida.
