College students, high school students, and other members of BAMN and UC-Berkeley’s student-government slate, Defend Affirmative Action Party (DAAP) occupied the campus Registrar’s Office April 6 demanding that UCB (1) double underrepresented minority student enrollment and (2) drop the criminal charges against campus protesters.

Occupiers met with campus administrators and presented thousands of petitions in support of these demands. The UC police locked-down the building to prevent other students from joining the protest. The occupiers voted to leave over 3 hours later to participate in the campus debate for ASUC student government.
